Problem
Peru has a flawed public health system, with lower-income Peruvians having to wait weeks, if not months, for appointments, only to receive impersonal care upon arrival. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, these problems only worsened. Despite initial reluctance, the pandemic propelled patients towards embracing telemedicine. This shift was driven by the realisation of its advantages, including time and cost savings, and the prospect of receiving superior care compared to traditional public health services.
